Who we are

Joanna Herald and Tina Nicholson are a London based design partnership closely linked to hortus, a shop in Blackheath offering garden related products and services. Much of their work is based around London and the South East, but projects do take them all over the country.

The partnership was formed in 2002, when Tina Nicholson joined Joanna Herald's long-established business.

Although their style is as diverse as the gardens they create, strong structure, simplicity and good planting remain key elements in all their work. Their gardens have appeared in magazines such as Country Life, The English Garden and Garden Life.
